Capture the high level details for your portfolio or program. For Portfolios, this aligns with the Charter, and for Programs, this aligns with a Business Case. They are used throughout Portfolio IQ in views and reports.


To document charter and business case:

Capture the charter/business case

  1. Ensure you are in Portfolio IQ and click Portfolios (or Programs) in the Leadership section.

  2. Click + New from the command bar.

  3. Complete the Portfolio (or Program) pane with as much information as you have now.

  4. The Portfolio (or Program) Name field is mandatory.

  5. Similarly, complete the Charter (or Business Case) pane with the information currently available.

  6. Click Save (or Save & Close) to create the Portfolio (Program).

Build the Team

  1. Select Portfolios (or Programs) from the site map to display the list of Active Portfolios (or Active Programs).

  2. Adjust the view as needed to ensure the one you are looking for is displayed.

  3. Select the Portfolio (or Program) to be updated.

  4. Select the header.

  5. Search for and select the Sponsor.

  6. Click Group Members.

  7. Search for and add members to the Microsoft 365 group.

  8. Click Create.

  9. Click Save & Close to finish.
