Important: If you are not familiar with the Resources area, we recommend you review the upcoming Resources Overview page It will provide you with a working knowledge of the Resources area.

Creating and maintaining resources is the core activity and will be required for all organizations who will be managing resource capacity and demand management or assigning resources to tasks using the native schedule in Sensei IQ.

Here are a few practical tips:

  • Generic resources will be used during Proposals and Project Initiation to capture high level resource requirements and validate capacity to staff them.
  • During Planningnamed resources with refined resource requirements will replace the initial high-level generic resources and will be used for ongoing resource capacity and demand management.
  • External resources can also be defined to identify other resources who will be involved in project delivery.
  • Capacity and demand management is not supported for external resources but all three types of resources can be assigned to tasks using the native schedule in Sensei IQ.
  • Bulk edit capabilities exist throughout Sensei IQ, but is particularly relevant in maintaining resources as it allows you to make changes to fields like Line Manager, resource calendars, etc. for multiple resources in a single efficient step.
  • You can also define resource cost and sell rates which can be used for organizational specific project level financial reporting.
  • Each resource can have a unique cost and sell rate and rate changes can be proactively entered with effective dates for when they should be applied.
