Close out remaining work (02:32)

Try It!

While, in theory, the team members should have zeroed out the Effort remaining when they provided their last task update. Just in case there is more work or a few residual hours, we should check for tasks with Effort remaining and zero them out appropriately.

Important: Depending on the execution tool that is linked to your project in Project IQ, refer to any of these external resources to update your project schedule:

  • If your project is linked to a Project for the web schedule, click here to learn how to build and maintain the schedule.
  • If your project is linked to a Project Online schedule, click here to learn how to build and maintain the schedule.
  • If your project is linked to a Jira scheduler, click here to learn how to build and maintain the schedule.
  • If your project is linked to an Azure DevOps plan, click here to learn how to build and maintain the plans.

To close out remaining work:

  1. Review all tasks and milestones in the project schedule that have remaining work (% complete not 100%) to validate that the work is complete, and the project can be closed.

  2. Mark tasks and milestones as complete by clicking in the circle, in any view: Grid, Board, or Timeline.
