Charts are configured within the table. | Common chart types are available, such as bar, pie, donut, line, etc. These charts have basic formatting options and if you want to do more advanced formatting, you need to export the solution and edit the XML files directly. These charts can be accessed from the Show Chart button in the ribbon when you have a View for that Table open. Tip: If you click on a chart element, it will filter the view. |
Dashboards can be used to show data from different tables on a single screen. | Dashboards consist of individual charts or Power BI reports. You can add a dashboard to your site map navigation and also make sure to include it in your app content. Tip: When designing a dashboard, there is no Publish button, so go into your Solution and press the Publish All Customizations button after saving your dashboard. |
Embedded Power BI reports can also be used within your model-driven app. | There are several ways to do it: 1. You can embed a Power BI report into a HTML page as a web resource. 2. You can add a Power BI report to a system dashboard, and also use an environment variable to move the different workspaces if you have more than one environment. 3. You can embed a Power BI report into a form, however, this is pretty complex as you need to edit the XML file directly and deal with parameter filtering. Tip: Embedded Power BI reports are used in Sensei IQ in the Insights site map items and are using the HTML web resources method. Important: Power BI reports are not included in your solution and stored separately in your Power BI workspace. Users will need to authenticate to Power BI and have the proper access to the reports. |
