- The customization of the system is done using a new modern site found at make.powerapps.com, which is sometimes referred to as the Maker Portal.
- This user interface (UI) is adding features frequently and it is recommended to try this option first. Some more advanced functionality can only be found on the older Classic Solution Designer (or Explorer).
- Many screens within the Maker Portal have a button to Switch to Classic or you can go there directly by clicking the Gear icon > Advanced Settings > Customizations > and Customize the System.
- The views, navigation, ribbon buttons, search bar, etc. are part of the model-driven user interface. You essentially just bring in the data.

- A canvas app is built with a tablet in mind and each interface element has been customized.
