Create and maintain strategic goals (04:40)

Try It!

While every organization is likely to describe and implement strategic goals (and themes) slightly differently, strategic goals define specific financial and non-financial measurable objectives and results a company aims to achieve over a specific period of time.

Specific results validation measurements can be defined for each goal and then results can be measured through benefits and realized through projects, programs and portfolios.

To create and maintain strategic goals:

Define a strategic goal

  1. Ensure you are in Strategy IQ and click Themes in the Strategy section.

  2. Find and select the theme that you wish to add a Strategic Goal to.

  3. Click + New Strategic Goal from the command bar.

  4. Fill in the Name field.

Important: It is mandatory and it should be clear and concise to help users identify the goal in screens, reports, and dashboards.

  5. Complete the remaining fields in the Quick Create pane.

  6. Define the quantitative measures for the goal using the Unit of Measure, Target Date, Scale and Value fields to define the expectations for the goal.

  7. Click Save & Close to save the new goal.

Updating a strategic goal

  1. Ensure you are in Strategy IQ, click Themes in the Strategy section.

  2. Find and select the Theme that has the Strategic Goal you wish to update.

  3. Find and select the appropriate Strategic Goal from the list.

  4. Update appropriate fields and select Save & Close.
