Set project KPIs and compose status narratives (05:33)

Try It!

While we cannot set the KPIs without completing all the previous components, the KPIs and the support narratives should be carefully defined to ensure you are communicating an accurate status to the stakeholders, and even more importantly, alerting them to potential problems that you may need their support to resolve.

To set key performance indicators (KPIs) and compose status narratives:

  1. Open the Status Updates tab for the current project and click + New Status Update.

  2. Create a new project status update for the current period.

Important: Ensure the Status Date is set to reflect the status period end date.

  3. Define the overall project status.

  4. Set the Project KPI and provide a clear and concise narrative to describe the status of the project.

  5. Set the KPI and provide a status narrative for the other relevant status areas based on your project stakeholders’ information requirements.
